8th leather and footwear expo kicks off in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Eighth Leather and Footwear Expo was kicked off in the capital on Tuesday. Leather Footwear and Goods Manufacturers Association of Nepal said that the expo was organized to help reduce the leader footwear goods and promote export.

As many as 52 stalls of leather footwear have been kept in the expo. The expo will run till December 25. The expo was started with the slogan of 'Use of Nepali brand: An honor to domestic industry'.

US cancels travel warning for Nepal

United States of America has canceled travel warning that it had issued for US citizens preparing to visit Nepal. “In recognition of improved conditions in Nepal, the US Department of State has cancelled the travel warning that was most recently issued on January 12,” the US Embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement on Wednesday.

TAAN for lowering TIMS fee for SAARC nationals

Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal has proposed to the government to lower Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) fee for tourists from SAARC countries, considering growing attraction of tourists from the region toward adventure tourism.
